European program “2 Cheers” showcasing two traditional European spirits is touring three locations on the West Coast of America.

2-cheers-eventThe European Union, Bulgaria, and Greece have co-founded a European program “2 Cheers” that will showcase two great traditional European spirits, Greek “Tsipouro” and Bulgarian “Rakia”. The presentation of the two spirits will take place during a tour of three locations on the west coast of America.

The first stop on the “2 Cheers” tour will be on Friday, April 27th, 2018, at the famous International Smoke in San Francisco, Ayesha Curry and Michael Mina’s restaurant located at 301 Mission St, San Francisco.

Followed by a second event on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018 at MEET Las Vegas. Located at 233 S. 4th Street, Las Vegas, in the heart of downtown Las Vegas and just two blocks from the Fremont Street Experience.

Finally, “2 Cheers” last stop will take place on Friday, May 4th, 2018 at the beautiful, luxurious SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills located at 465 S. La Cienega Blvd, Los Angeles.

At each stop, “Tsipouro” and “Rakia” will be featured in handcrafted cocktails created by local expert mixologist, giving a new idea of their usefulness, apart from being consumed in the traditional way.

Greek Tsipouro is a pomace brandy from Greece and in particular Thessaly, Epirus, Macedonia, and the island of Crete. Tsipouro is a product of multiple distillations retaining the character of the Muscat grape variety. The complex aroma and rich taste are elements acquired through the long aging procedure in oak barrels.

Bulgarian Rakia (Pomoriyska Grozdova Rakia), the national Bulgarian drink, is the collective term for fruit brandy popular in Central Europe and Southeast Europe that can be characterized by its transparent straw color and pleasant Muscat aroma. Rakia has a fascinating fragrance of white flowers and acacia, with flavors of dried fruit, vanilla, and caramel.

Along the tour, attendees will enjoy complimentary hosted appetizers, drink Tsipouro and Rakia, handcrafted cocktails, as well as meet Greek representatives and expert mixologist with whom attendees will be able to talk to and be educated on these Mediterranean spirits and cultural aspects.
